Purpose and Regulatory Commitment
PoaPay LLC ("PoaPay") is committed to protecting customers from fraud, scams, financial exploitation, and unauthorized use of its services. PoaPay maintains fraud prevention controls in compliance with federal law, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and FinCEN regulations, as well as state money transmitter regulations.
Consumer Fraud Awareness
Customers should exercise caution when sending funds. Fraud schemes may include lottery scams, advance fee fraud, impersonation scams, romance scams, employment scams, and requests from unknown parties. Once funds are transmitted, recovery may not be possible.
Elder Abuse Prevention
PoaPay recognizes that elderly persons may be vulnerable to financial exploitation. PoaPay monitors transactions and may delay or block suspicious transfers to protect vulnerable individuals.
Fraud Monitoring and Detection
PoaPay utilizes automated and manual fraud monitoring systems to detect suspicious activity. Transactions may be delayed, reviewed, or declined.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers must verify recipient identity before sending funds. PoaPay is not responsible for losses resulting from sending funds to unintended recipients.
Regulatory Reporting
PoaPay reports suspicious activity to FinCEN and law enforcement agencies as required by law.
OFAC Compliance
PoaPay screens transactions against OFAC sanctions lists and blocks prohibited transactions.
Consumer Protection and Regulation E
PoaPay complies with Regulation E, providing investigation and resolution of unauthorized electronic fund transfers.
